I had never even heard of a Polterabend until Tracy messaged me asking me to be there to photograph it for them. It’s a german themed party before the night of the wedding where the guests break porcelain to bring good luck to the couple’s marriage.
Now these guys did it up. The outfits were fantastic. The canadians dressed in plaid, fur hats, wool socks, hockey jerseys etc and the german’s dressed in beautiful german dresses and Lederhosen which are traditional knee length leather shorts. Tracy, the bride, sewed her hubby to be a vest out of a Hudson bay blanket. It was so fun to see everyone get so into it and spend so much time and effort on their outfits.
These two definitely know how to throw a party!
