So after our little road trip to the conference in Mystic we drove to the big New York City! By this time we were completely exhausted…. but all the lights of New York kept us going! First day we all went to Times square and then got tickets for CHICAGO! My first broadway show. The level of talent in this show was unreal. The dancing, singing and acting was top notch! The show ended around 11 and we were on our way back to the subway when FOREVER 21 caught our attention. Largest store in the world and they are open till 1pm every day. I would not want to work there! We went in and I couldn’t believe it….it was as if it was 3 in the afternoon. Lots of people out shopping and trying stuff on. Can’t say I’ve ever shopped at midnight before.
I was only there for a day and a half but I was able to catch the feel of the city. It seems like the city never sleeps…unless there is a snow storm that is. The night before we came home everyone was telling us that there is no way we’ll get out of the city the next day. We’ll be stranded cause of all the snow. They were cancelling schools before the snow even began. So foreign to me when here in Winnipeg we get that snow almost every week plus minus 30 temperatures and NOTHING shuts down! Made me giggle a little in the a.m when I called four cab companies and not one could get me to the airport cause of the snow!!! LOL Anyway…loved my time in NYC. Our theme of the trip was me…’small town girl’ meets New York City! Had such a blast wondering the streets of NYC with my camera in hand and 5 girls to pose for me!
I’m pretty sure we were the only ones talking on the subway. It’s a bit of a dark place…so we thought we’d try to liven it up for a day!
There is actually some really talented people who play in the subways. They definitely help lighten the atmosphere!
and the great thing about travelling with other photographers is occasionally you get a shot of yourself 🙂 here is Sandra and I on the brooklyn bridge!
