Family Outing

I don’t often get time to share personal posts on here. I have a hard enough time keeping up with ones for my clients. So I’m excited to share something less organized and posed and a bit more personal. This lady here is a friend that is so dear to my heart. She is such a rock and an incredible lifelong friend. I’m excited to share a few images of our afternoon outing together.

The days have been so mild lately. We are loving this winter weather. It’s so nice to be able to get out and enjoy winter and not be quite so cooped up. This was the perfect afternoon to get out right before Christmas. A sleigh ride with friends and their beautiful pony that trotted along behind us. The guys built a fire, we made some hot chocolate and roasted some marshmallows and went on a sleigh ride down some beautiful trails. I came home feeling so thankful for great friends and an amazing community to raise our children with.

I’ve been working on gratefulness lately. It’s sometimes easy to get sucked into comparing and always on the search for bigger and better. But there is a beautiful place of rest and joy when you can enter a season of gratitude. Being thankful for everything and anything in between. The warm hot chocolate in your hands, a fuzzy pony, the warm blankets on the sleigh, the smile of a freckled face little girl, a warm jacket to wear when it’s cold, a glowing fire, a husband that is home and friends that you can call on anytime and know they will be there for you.

This Christmas season I am trying to focus on gratefulness for what I have rather then wishing and desiring for what I don’t. We are blessed. So very blessed.

I’m grateful for an afternoon of fresh air, beautiful people, adorable animals and a wonderful creation to enjoy.
