This past weekend was a scheduled weekend off, so Dave and I wanted to make sure we lived it up the best we could. We absolutley love camping and canoeing so he took friday off and we planned a three day canoe trip to the whiteshell. If you like canoeing, caddy lake is a great place to do that. There are two super cool rock tunnels to canoe through. We canoed through 4 lakes and then camped out for the night on North Cross Lake. Gorgeous lake. So peaceful and quiet. There is nothing quite like heading out away from all the craziness of life to a place of pure serenity. We canoed, fished, played in the rapids, picked blueberries, portaged and swam off the canoe. Such a theraputic time away. This is the place where I definitely feel most alive. One morning I woke early and sat out to enjoy the view and do a bit of journaling. The colors were all so magnificent. The sky bluer than I had ever seen, the greens in the trees so distinct and vibrant, the shades of grey in the rock, the big white puffy clouds and the soft ripples of the water. All these things together are magical to sit and watch. Then with all these gorgeous sites comes the heat of the sun, the sound of the birds singing in perfect harmony and the soft breeze brushing across my face. Where else would I rather be?
Here we are out on our little date night! Picking blueberries and looking for firewood.
Playing in the rapids…
Our journey complete and successful. Packed up and ready to head home.
